How to price products in Bangladesh

Bangladeshi online pricing must include costs many sellers forget: COD charges, return risk and ad cost per order. Price = total cost per order ÷ (1 − desired margin).

How to use the product pricing calculator Bangladesh (formula)

Recommended selling price = Total cost per order (incl. return risk) ÷ (1 − Desired profit margin÷100) Total cost per order (incl. return risk) = Product cost + Transport ÷ sourcing cost + Packaging cost + Delivery cost + COD fee + Ad cost per order + Delivery cost×Expected return rate÷100 Expected profit = Recommended selling price − Total cost per order (incl. return risk) Profit margin = Expected profit ÷ Recommended selling price × 100

What margin should Bangladeshi online sellers target?

After ads and returns, 15–25% net margin is healthy for most categories. Very competitive categories may run at 10%, but then return rate must stay low.

Tips to improve your result

  • Price for your real return rate, not a hopeful one.
  • Add delivery cost inside the price for Dhaka and charge extra outside Dhaka if needed.
  • Round to prices ending in 50 or 90 that buyers expect.
  • Recheck price when ad cost per order rises in sale seasons.

Frequently asked questions

How do I set a selling price in BDT?

Add all per-order costs including ads and return risk, then divide by (1 − target margin).

Should delivery charge be included in the price?

Either include it or show it clearly at checkout — just make sure your price covers it either way.

How does Facebook ad cost affect pricing?

Ad cost per order is often the second-biggest cost after the product, so it must be part of the price.

What is a safe profit margin for COD products?

Aim for at least 20% net so a few extra returns do not push you into loss.
